The Midwife in Tyler TX

First Trimester

new life begins

Beginning around 10-14 weeks, care begins every month. I offer early pregnancy tests and lab work, nutritional counseling, ultrasound referral, routine prenatal care, a listening ear and support for any discomforts and concerns that you have. A healthy, low risk pregnancy is best achieved by proper assessments and routine prenatal care. I desire to help you get the best start for you and your baby.

Second Trimester

new life grows

Recommendation and referral for an anatomy scan ultrasound will be scheduled at 18 to 20 weeks and your routine appointments will continue until 28 weeks. Gestational diabetes screening and routine OB labs will be discussed and offered as you progress into the third trimester.

Third Trimester

new life arrives

As you enter the third trimester, I will demonstrate and encourage daily practice of Spinning Babies Exercises to help your baby get into an optimal position for birth. Natural childbirth education classes are available as part of your routine care. After this appointment I will begin to see you and your family every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and then weekly until birth. I will monitor you and baby closely, screening for any abnormalities and wellbeing. I offer advice and education on home birth preparation, exercises to ease pregnancy discomforts and how to care for your newborn after they arrive.
