Doula Services

Competent, compassionate support during life’s most precious moments

Why Doula Services?

Historically, a woman never birthed alone. There was an intimate community that surrounded her and supported her through the most challenging and amazing time of her life. Doulas are not new. Women have been helping women prepare for and successfully navigate childbirth for thousands of years.

I am a trained and experienced professional doula who provides emotional, physical and educational support before, during, and after birth. My purpose in providing doula services is to encourage and assist you to achieve whatever goals you have in mind, completely agenda-free. I provide evidence-based information when requested, listening and affirming your desires, and providing you with unconditional support.

As a doula in Tyler, TX, I work hard to maintain positive relationships with east Texas providers to create an environment of peace and assurance that you have a great team on your side. I assist your partner in engaging in the birth at their comfort level and equip them with the skills they need to do so. I assist in empowering my clients to find their voice to express themselves in every step of the process.

Giving birth is one of the most incredible moments of your life and every woman deserves to have unlimited and unwavering support during that time.

Colleen is a perfect blend of sensitive and authoritative. She was sensitive to our needs, feelings, wishes, hesitations, and the fact that we were having our first baby and had no idea what we were doing. My husband also felt like she was very sensitive to his role as my main support. He never felt like she overstepped or made him feel inferior–he loved working alongside her!

I loved Colleen from the first meeting and knew we would work well together. She met with us several times before my due date and answered questions for me along the way. I texted her at midnight when I woke up with labor pains (1 week prior to my due date) and she came to the house about an hour later. She guided my husband and let him do all of the coaching and let him take a break when he needed a rest. She was his support system so he could be mine. I was in labor for 29 hours and Colleen was with us every step of the way. She was so gracious and was never negative or judgmental. She stayed by my side the entire time and rejoiced with us when our baby finally made her appearance! My husband and I could not have done this alone and Colleen was the perfect choice for our doula.
